Conference time is nearly here. ( Monday 25th Feb – Thursday 28th Feb) The title of this year’s conference is Prophetic Word, Prophetic People. The speakers are Dr. Sam Storms, Clive Calver, Dave Campbell, Alex Buchanan, Bernard Thompson. (see www.lifeinthespirit.co.uk for more details on these men and their ministries)
The location is The Hayes Conference Centre, Swanwick, Derbyshire.DE55 1AU. You can key this postcode into your satellite navigation if you have one, or type it at www.rac.co.uk, which will then give you a route-map. If you are arriving by public transport, The Hayes own website gives you all the information you need - www.cct.org.uk/thehayes .
Due to circumstances beyond their control a few brothers have been forced to cancel – so at this moment we are able to offer 5 en-suite rooms and around 9 places standard accommodation. We have to pay for all the rooms whether there is somebody in them or not. So an empty room represents, not only a spiritual opportunity missed, but also a financial loss. Life in the Spirit Conference is run entirely for the benefit of those who attend, it does not aim to make a profit and keeps minimal financial reserves from one year to the next. Is there anyone you can encourage to attend?
We have a modest bursary fund and can offer places at significantly reduced prices to those who would benefit from attending but are put off by the cost. Please get in touch.
If you can’t remember the details of your booking – you can check on www.lifeinthespirit.co.uk . Just click on the tab BOOKING STATUS and you can see if you have booked standard or en-suite accommodation and check your balance. I would encourage you to do this – I’m not infallible – and it is easier to sort out any ‘snags’ before the conference.
This year we have requested full-payment 30 days before the conference. This helps with administration and cash flow – thanks for those who have sent their cheques. A gentle reminder to the rest of you!
Some churches make ‘block bookings’ and some people make bookings for others. People will only be receiving this letter if their individual names and addresses are in our database. I would be grateful if group leaders will ensure that members of their party are made aware of these details or given a copy of this letter.
The centre will be open from 4pm and I will be waiting to greet you, give you a welcome pack (it’s not that grand really) and direct you to your room. Tea will be at 6:15 and the first evening meeting with Sam Storms is at 7:30pm
To help orient those who are at the conference for the first time there will be a welcome meeting at 5:30pm in the main hall.
Please remember to bring a towel and toiletries and your medicines! (towels are provided in en-suite accommodation.) Everything else is provided and there is a shop for extras and anything you may forget. Free tea and coffee making facilities are available in or near your room.
As usual there will be a comprehensive bookstall – with some very keen prices and special offers. Tapes/discs of the sessions will also be available – so don’t forget to bring your wallet, cheque book and plastic.
Prayer
Please join us in praying in advance of the conference.
